Beach glass hues on the Deleware coast

Blue and green rooms

This next project was by far the most “coastal” feeling of all the models I completed at the Bethany Beach project. This house was geared towards couples that wanted a house that was bright and airy and reminded them that they were at the beach. So, of course, a palette of blues and greens was in order.  The footprint was relatively small, but that doesn’t mean you need to skimp on the details.  I specified exterior siding for the foyer and the wall in the master for extra character and texture. I find that some of the best trim details are surprisingly simple to pull off. Great graphic light fixtures from Stray Dog  ( foyer and master bedroom) help keep the casual, fun mood.  The light fixture in the breakfast room from Creative Coop is made out of wire baskets mounted to a board.  I found the oar headboard idea online, and my amazing assistant Connie managed to pull it off even better then the original. My other super talented friend Anita Roll took what was originally some basic artwork and turned it into an awesome 3D mural.  Relax + Enjoy!!

What do you do with some ho-hum art? Paint a beach mural over it, and it becomes awesome!

How amazing is this?? New distressed oars are mixed with vintage finds to create a one of a kind headboard.

Exterior shingles also line the foyer to give it the feel of an enclosed porch.
