Design, Eat, Travel….Repeat!
Talk about a passport to the past…Saville’s Diner is the quintessential “diner” located in the small town of Gilbertsville, PA. Angie and I stumbled upon this classic gem while installing a project in the area and got several recommendations from locals that this was the place to eat. Let me tell you how AMAZING the food was but the desserts and decor far surpass any diner I’ve been to in a while. From the teal upholstered bar stools to the copper jello molds on the walls to the clientele who were all regulars, this place just takes you back to a simpler better time.
But let’s get down to business and discuss the food and desserts. Being the foodies that we are, Angie and I ordered a sampling of traditional diner staples and saved room for their world-famous eclairs and sticky buns. The desserts were so unbelievable we came back the next day for lunch with our faux artist Anita Roll and ordered dessert only!! I completely over indulged and ate the entire slice of boston cream pie that was easily 8″ tall and enjoyed every single morsel. Again, living in the south you just don’t get diners and desserts like this…clearly I have a weakness for them.
Enjoy this with your daily cup of joe and know that I’ll be wishing I had this as my breakfast!
